It's Saturday Night, Now What?

OK…it’s Saturday night…you’re wanting to have fun…but you want to stay true to your commitment to abstinence. What can you do? Here are just a few ideas that will let you have a great time without having to go where you have decided not to go.

Group activities with no alcohol or drugs are always your best bet.

Hang out with friends and watch a movie (preferably one without any…you know…scenes with…uh…sex)
Throw a theme party
Karaoke Night
Attend school sports events as a group (make it more fun by all dressing up in weird clothes and make-up based on your school’s colors)
Host game nights at your house
Go to Sunshine Speedway as a group, pick cars and cheer your head off for the driver you pick.
Have the guys make dinner for the girls
Go bowling
Go eat Chinese food and require everyone to use chop-sticks
Make a video together
Sample and rate the coffee at a number of late-night eateries (e.g. Dunkin’ Donuts, Denny’s, local diners)
Go to a golf driving range or miniature golf course
Catch the sunset while picnicking at Clearwater Beach
International Food Road Rally—Go out as a group for Mexican appetizers, Thai main course, and Italian dessert. Take a camera and gets photos with your server.
Get all dressed up and go to a play
Go ice skating or rollerblading
Wash everyone’s car
Catch an outdoor concert
Go to Vertical Ventures in Tampa and climb the walls
Go to a beach and make a sand castle
Get together at someone’s house and make pizzas
Get a friend to agree to play Trading Spaces with you. Ask someone to help you paint your friend’s room (you pick the color) and have your friend do the same for yours. (Make sure the parental units are cool with this.)

Be creative. Have fun. Enjoy your friends. You’ll love the memories.
